GG25: Properties, Applications, and Benefits

Cast Iron GG25, commonly known as grey cast iron, is a cost-effective material used in pump manufacturing due to its excellent casting properties and machinability. It finds wide applications in various industries, including water supply, sewage treatment, and agriculture.

GG25 is equivalent to FC250 in Japanese Industrial Standards and EN-GJL-250 in European Standards, making it suitable for high-stress and impact-resistant applications.

This type of cast iron has good wear resistance, making it ideal for use in pumps, valves, and other machinery components. The chemical composition of GG25 typically includes carbon, silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus, and small amounts of copper, nickel, and chromium.

GG25’s mechanical properties include a tensile strength of 250 MPa, a yield strength of 150 MPa, and a hardness of 170-230 HB. It is easily welded or brazed and has good casting performance.

Makida utilizes GG25 in manufacturing various pump components such as impellers, casings, and suction covers. Our GG25 castings undergo strict quality control to meet the highest standards for dimensional accuracy and mechanical properties.
